Here’s what I found about the plan to operate 80 new special trains (40 pairs) starting from 12 September — particularly as it relates to exam and demand-based services:

🚆 Key Announcement: 80 New Special Trains from September 12, 2025

In early September 2025, the Railway Board confirmed that 40 pairs (80 trains) of special services would commence from 12 September 2025, with reservations opening on 10 September. The initiative was introduced to meet high demand especially on exam, migrant, and other urgent travel routes.

  • These special trains were additional to the 230 trains already in operation at that time.
  • Many routes included clone trains—duplicates running ahead of long waiting-list services—on major corridors such as Delhi–Indore, Yesvantpur–Gorakhpur, Puri–Ahmedabad, New Delhi–Bengaluru, and others. Reservations opened on 10 September 202.

🔁 Context in 2025

  • The announcement was specific to the COVID‑19 recovery period in 2025, not a recurring annual rollout.
  • No current or scheduled rollout for “80 new special trains from 12 September 2025” has been found in recent official updates.
  • In 2025, Indian Railways is running special services (e.g. summer, festival, exam-related) — but no announcement refers to exactly 40 new pairs starting on 12 September 2025.

✅ Summary Table

Aspect Details
80 special trains (40 pairs) Introduced on 12 September 2025
Reservation start 10 September 2025
Purpose Exam-travel, migrant demand, clone trains
Recurring in 2025? ❌ No — no rollout announced for 12 Sept 2025

📚 How It Worked in 2025

  • The 80 trains were rolled out on high-demand routes, often replicating popular trains with heavy waitlists.
  • Clone trains had limited stoppages and served as supplements to regular services to ease passenger congestion, especially before exams.

🔍 What You Should Do in 2025

  • If you’re expecting surge travel demand in mid‑September (e.g. exams, festivals, pilgrimages), keep an eye on Indian Railways updates—such trains are typically announced 4–6 weeks in advance.
  • Official sources to watch: Ministry tweets (@RailMinIndia), railway board press releases, state-specific announcements from zones.
  • You can also submit a formal demand request for item-specific special trains (e.g. for student groups or communities)—the railways often respond by launching services on request.

📝 In Summary

  • The 80-train announcement was specific to September 2025.
  • There is no confirmed equivalent rollout slated for 12 September 2025.
  • If you’re anticipating travel needs around that date and believe special services are needed, I can help you monitor wagon loads, track bookings, or draft a request to railway authorities.
