SALIENT FEATURES OF NORTHERN RAILWAYS NEW TIME TABLE EFFECTIVE FROM 01.07.2025

It is notified for the information of the general public that Northern Railways New Time Table shall be effective from 01.07.2025 . Salient features of the New Time Table pertaining to Northern Railway is as under :

A – 02 New Tejas Trains-

22425 / 22426 New Delhi- Chandigarh-New Delhi Tejas Express train.

12585 /12586 New Delhi- Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express Train.

B – Extension of 04 trains-

12205/12206 Dehradun-New Delhi Nanda Devi express train upto Kota Jn.

54391/54392 Aligarh- Mordabad passenger upto Gajraula.

74991/74992 Ambala –AmbAndora DEMU upto Daulatpur Chowk.

12037/12038 New Delhi –Ludhiana Shatabdi express upto Lohian Khas

C – Increase / Decrease in Frequency of 02 trains-

12275/12276 Allahabad –New Delhi –Allahbad Hamsafar express train from  Tri-Weekly to 04 Days in a Week.( Increased )

12037/12038 New Delhi-Ludhiana-New Delhi Shatabdi express from 05 Days to 02 Days in a Week.( Decreased)

D – Renumbering of 10 trains-

14369 Singrauli –Tanakpur express as 15073.

14370 Tanakpur- Singrauli express as 15074.

15209 Saharsa – Amritsar express as 14617.

H – 87 Trains Speeded up-

I – Change in Departure Timings Of 148 trains.
Departure timings of 93 trains preponed.

Departure timings of 55 trains postponed.

J – Change in Arrival Timings of 118 trains-

Arrival timings of 57 trains preponed.

Arrival timings of 61 trains postponed.

For the information of passengers, Railways have decided to revise the timings/ numbers of the following trains w.e.f. 01.07.2019.

  • The new timetable came into force on January 1, 2025. Travelers are strongly advised to check actual train timings before boarding via the IRCTC website, the NTES app, Rail Madad (139), or station inquiry counters.

Major Schedule Revisions (Summarized Data)

According to a compiled summary, the timetable includes:

  • Departure Revisions: 208 trains had time adjustments (93 earlier, 115 later)
  • Arrival Revisions: 244 trains altered (104 earlier, 140 delayed)
  • Speed Enhancements: 144 trains were sped up, with an average gain of ~13 minutes per journey
  • Route & Service Changes:
    • Terminal changes for 3 train pairs
    • 34 Mail/Express trains were renumbered
    • 3 station name changes
    • 6 train names changed
    • 1 train modified its running days
    • 22 trains had flip-flop changes between Superfast ↔ Mail/Express categories (14 vs 8)
    • 4 trains rerouted
    • 3 trains had raised maximum permissible speeds
    • 28 new trains introduced
    • 69 trains had their routes or services extended

Sample Early Departures (Illustrative Examples)

  • KGRA–BJPL Passenger (Train 4685): Moved from 18:00 to 14:30
  • KGRA–BJPL Passenger (Train 4699): Now departs at 06:00 instead of 09:30
  • BSB–CNB Mail Express (Train 14865): Changed to 16:45 departure from 18:10
  • Others include changes like HSR–LDH Passenger (4573), LDH–FZR Passenger (4635), SPC–SPN Passenger (4337), CNB–LKO MEMU (4296), SRE–PYGS Mail Express (14242)
