23 KM OF DOUBLING BETWEEN BINKADAKATTI – HARLAPUR READY FOR SAFETY INSPECTION
Statutory inspection & speed trial for opening of newly laid double line of 23 Km between Binkadakatti and Harlapur will be held on 11.01.2025 by Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Region. The inspection of this section in Gadag District of Hubbali Division of SWR will be conducted by Shri K Manoharan, CRS.
Shri KC Swamy, CAO/CN, Shri P K Kshatriya, CPM/RVNL, Bengaluru, Shri Arvind Malkhede, DRM/UBL and other senior officers will accompany CRS during the inspection. The 23 Km section is having 4 stations and Railway officials will do motor trolley inspection before running trains at maximum permissible speed. After completion of speed trial and inspection of safety equipment at stations on this section, CRS will consider the proposal for opening this line for passenger traffic.
The 23 Km section is part of the 352 Km doubling of Hosapete – Tinaighat – Vaso Section. Prior to this, 178 Km of doubling has been commissioned so far and a further 16 Km between Unkal – Navalur – Dharwad is targeted to be commissioned by March 2025.
