Cancel Train Due To Fog 2025 | List of Trains Cancelled Due To Fog 2025-21

Due to upcoming foggy season from December, 2025 to January, 2025, Every year Railways decide to cancel some of Mail / Express trains either partially or fully and reduction in frequency of trains, as a precautionary measure from safety point of view.

During the foggy weather season 2025-21 the following Mail / Express trains will remain cancelled / Partially Cancelled / Frequency Reduction as under:

During the foggy weather season 2025-2025 the following Partially Cancelled / Frequency Reduction as under:

🌫️ Cancellation of Trains Due to Fog – Fog-Affected Trains (IRCTC / Indian Railways)

During winter months (typically November to February), Indian Railways cancels, diverts, or reschedules several trains due to dense fog, especially in North India. These are called Fog-Affected Trains.


🚆 What Are Fog-Affected Trains?

These are trains preemptively cancelled, partially cancelled, rescheduled, or diverted during winter to ensure safety and manage congestion on fog-hit routes.

Refund Rules for Cancelled Trains (Including Fog Cancellations)

✅ No cancellation charges are deducted if the train is cancelled due to fog.


🔄 Other Scenarios Due to Fog

🔁 1. Train Rescheduled or Delayed (over 3 hours)

  • You can cancel your ticket and get a full refund.
  • Must file a TDR before train’s actual departure.

📝 Reason: Train running late more than 3 hours and passenger not travelled.


🔀 2. Train Diverted or Route Changed

  • If you don’t want to travel on the new route, you can:
    • Cancel the ticket and claim full refund via TDR.
    • Must be filed before actual departure or within 3 hours after.

📲 How to Check Fog-Affected Train List

  1. Visit NTES Fog Affected Trains Portal
  2. Go to Cancelled/Rescheduled/Diverted Trains
  3. Filter by date and region (North India mostly affected)
  4. You can also check updates on the IRCTC website

🧾 TDR Filing for E-Tickets (if applicable)

  1. Log in to IRCTC
  2. Go to Booked Ticket History
  3. Click on “File TDR” next to your booking
  4. Select appropriate reason (e.g., Train Cancelled, Train Late >3 hours)
  5. Submit within:
    • Up to train departure (for rescheduling/delay)
    • Within 72 hours (for cancellation)
