Cancellation, Partial Cancellation and Diversion of Special Trains
Railway Board has decided to extend the cancellation, partial cancellation and diversion of the following trains upto 15/09/2020 :
Cancellation of Trains:
Train no. 06346 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is cancelled.
Train no. 06345 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Thiruvananthapuram Central Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is cancelled.
Train no. 02432 New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Central Rajdhani Special Express journey date from 13/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is cancelled.
Train no. 02431 Thiruvananthapuram Central – New Delhi Rajdhani Special Express journey date from 15/09/2020 to 17/09/2020 is cancelled.
Partial Cancellation of Trains:
Train no. 02779 Madgaon Jn. – H. Nizamuddin Goa Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is partially cancelled between Madgaon Jn. and Londa and the train will originate from Hubballi Jn. instead of Madgaon Jn.
Train no. 02780 H. Nizamuddin – Madgaon Jn. Goa Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is partially cancelled between Londa and Madgaon Jn. and the train will be terminated at Hubballi Jn. instead of Madgaon Jn.
Diversion of Trains:
Train No. 02617 Ernakulam – H. Nizamuddin Superfast Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is diverted via. Madgaon Jn. – Londa – Miraj – Pune – Panvel – Kalyan.
Train No. 02618 H. Nizamuddin – Ernakulam Superfast Special Express journey date from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 is diverted via. Kalyan – Panvel – Pune – Miraj – Londa – Madgaon.
Train No. 02284 H. Nizamuddin – Ernakulam Duranto Special Express journey dated 12/09/2020 is diverted via. Panvel – Pune – Wadi – Guntakal – Renigunta – Melpakkam – Jolarpettai.
Train No. 02283 Ernakulam – H. Nizamuddin Duranto Special Express journey dated 15/09/2020 is diverted via. Jolarpettai – Melpakkam – Renigunta – Guntakal – Wadi – Pune – Panvel .

🚆 Cancellation, Partial Cancellation & Diversion of Special Trains – Refund Rules (IRCTC / Indian Railways)
When special trains (like festival specials, summer specials, or Suvidha trains) are cancelled, partially cancelled, or diverted by Indian Railways, passengers are entitled to a refund, depending on the nature of disruption and how the ticket was booked.
✅ 1. Train Fully Cancelled by Railways

🚫 No cancellation charges are deducted if the train is cancelled by Indian Railways.
🔁 2. Partial Cancellation (Route Shortened / Stations Skipped)
If the train runs but does not cover your boarding/destination station, it’s considered partially cancelled.

💡 Example: If your journey is from Station A to Station C, but the train now runs only from B to C — you can claim a full refund.
🔀 3. Diversion of Special Trains
If the train is diverted and does not pass through your booked stations, you are eligible for a full refund.

🧾 How to File TDR (E-Tickets Only)
- Log in to IRCTC
- Go to “My Bookings” / “Booked Ticket History”
- Click “File TDR” next to the affected ticket
- Select the reason:
- Train cancelled
- Train diverted and not touching boarding station
- Train short terminated
- Submit TDR within the allowed time:
- 72 hrs for cancelled/partial
- Up to 3 hrs after departure for diversions
🧾 How to Get Refund for Counter Tickets
- Visit any PRS reservation counter
- Carry:
- Original printed ticket
- Valid ID
- File cancellation request or TDR
- Do this within 3 days of scheduled departure
