Indian Railways provides concessional fare benefits to cancer patients traveling for treatment. To avail the benefit, a Cancer Patient Railway Concession Form must be filled and submitted.
✅ Who Is Eligible?
- Cancer patients traveling to/from recognized cancer hospitals for treatment.
- One escort is also eligible for concession.

🚉 How to Avail the Concession
- Visit the nearest railway reservation counter with the filled concession form and documents.
- The concession certificate is verified and approved.
- After verification, the ticket is issued with the concessional fare.
🚫 Concession cannot be claimed for online (IRCTC) bookings. Only available at PRS counters.
🔁 Concession Validity
- Valid for one journey only (to and/or from hospital).
- Must be freshly certified for each trip unless the treatment is long-term and certified accordingly.
