💳 Discounts & Ticket Options
- 20% discount when using Singara Chennai Card (NCM C / SBI Metro Card), or booking via the CMRL app (QR tickets)
- 50% discount on single‑journey tickets (not passes) when travelling on Sundays and public holidays
- Tourist day pass provides unlimited rides for ₹100 (covers 54 km up to Wimco Nagar), valid even on extension lines
- Monthly pass costs ₹2,500 and similarly covers extension routes up to Wimco Nagar
🕒 Operating Hours (2025 Service Hours)
- Monday–Saturday: ~5:00 AM to ~11:00 PM
- Sunday / Holidays: Similar, occasional slight variation (e.g. closes around 11:10 PM)
💡 Ticket Types & Usage
- Single Journey Tokens: Purchase at station counters or kiosks (cash, UPI, or card)
- QR Tickets: Via CMRL app or WhatsApp-based booking, scanned at gates—digital only, eligible for discounts
- Singara Chennai Card (NCMC):
- Prepaid contactless smart card usable across Metro and MTC buses
- Not yet valid for suburban rail (coming soon)
- Issued free at metro stations or MTC depots, activated immediately if issued by Metro
Traditional stored‑value cards have been phased out starting April 2025 in favor of NCMC cards
