Here’s what I found regarding Standard Circular Journey Tour Tickets offered by Central Railway:

What Are Circular Journey Tickets?

Circular Journey Tickets (CJT) are specially issued for trips that start and end at the same station, allowing travelers to visit multiple destinations in a loop. They often offer telescopic fare benefits, making them more economical than booking multiple point-to-point tickets. Up to eight break journeys are allowed on a single ticket without needing endorsements. These tickets are available in all classes of travel.

Are Standard CJT Routes Available Over Central Railway?

While standard CJT routes do exist for Northern Railway and South Central Railway, I couldn’t locate any official listing, published route maps, or documentation that confirms Central Railway offers pre-defined standard circular tour routes. Unlike some other zones, there are no publicly available standard itineraries or route templates specifically for Central Railway.

Key Features of Circular Journey Tickets (General)

Even in absence of standard routes from Central Railway, the general rules for CJTs apply:

  • Itinerary Flexibility: CJTs can be customized—allowed when no standard route fits your travel plan.
  • Fare Calculation: Based on telescopic rates—effectively, two single-journey fares of half the total distance—often lower than booking separately.
  • Validity Rules:
    • Travel days: 1 day per 400 km (or part thereof)
    • Break days: 1 day per 200 km (or part thereof)
  • Break Journeys: Up to 8 stops allowed without any endorsement; signature at journey start is needed.
  • Booking Steps:
    1. Finalize your itinerary.
    2. Submit details to the Divisional Commercial Manager or station authority.
    3. Get fare and validity calculated.
    4. Purchase CJT at the originating station.
    5. Reserve berths for each leg separately through PRS.
