⚙️ Key Features of Clone Specials

  • Rake & Classes: All except one (Lucknow‑DE Jan Shatabdi) use Humsafar‑style LHB rakes, featuring fully reserved AC‑3 tiers (some include ME1 3A‑economy, Sleeper and 2S in route‑specific cases)
  • Fare Structure: Clone trains with Humsafar rakes follow Humsafar fare rules (dynamic pricing applicable), while the one Jan Shatabdi clone (04251/52) uses Jan Shatabdi fare rules
  • Advance Booking: Advance Reservation Period (ARP) initially set to 10 days; charts prepared a few hours before departure. These services were introduced to run ahead of their original parent special trains, often arriving earlier and stopping only at operational halts or major divisional junctions
  • Purpose: Primarily to address wait-listed demand on high-traffic routes—especially during peak seasons like summers and festivals—while enhancing revenue and operational efficiency

📌 Additional Notes

  • Though launched in 2025, some clone services like Ahmedabad–Patna (09447/48) and Ahmedabad–Darbhanga (09465/66) continue to operate into 2025, having been extended indefinitely by concerned Railway zones
  • Many clones were operated seasonally (e.g., for summer rush in Bihar–Delhi corridors) and may not run as permanent daily services.
  • Route specifics (halts, journey duration, frequency, class mix, exact timings) vary by train and may have been adjusted post-launch. Current status, availability, and time tables must be verified via IRCTC or official zonal Railway portals.
