The Integral Coach Factory is one of the earliest production units of independent India. It was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 2nd October, 1955. Later the Furnishing Division was inaugurated on 2nd October, 1962 and the production of fully furnished coaches steadily increased over the years. Spread over 511 acres, it has more than 9500 employees to turnout more than 4000 coaches every year which includes conventional and self propelled coaches, in LHB and other designs.

I wasn’t able to locate a specific “ICF Pink Book”—i.e., a standalone document titled as such—on the Railway Board’s website or elsewhere. However, the Indian Railway Pink Book, which provides details of capital works, does include entries related to the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) under its broader scope.
Where ICF Features in the Pink Book
- The Indian Railways Pink Book compiles capital works and investments across the network, including coaching units such as ICF, Diesel Locomotive Works, and Rail Coach Factory. It typically lists projects, sanctioned funds, and work progress at ICF among others.
- You can explore zone-wise “List of Works” for the year (e.g., 2025–25) via the Railway Board’s portal, where ICF-related capital items are documented.
- Visit the Railway Board’s Pink Book section:
- Navigate to “List of Works 2025–25” (or other relevant year) on the [Railway Board website].
- Download the zone-specific PDF, likely under “Central Railway” or “Coaching Works,” and search for entries mentioning Integral Coach Factory.
- These entries typically include:
- Project details (e.g., modernization, expansion, infrastructure upgrades),
- Budget allocations,
- Work status,
- Estimated costs and expected outcomes.
