Kolkata Metro Fare List 2025
REVISED FARE STRUCTURE OF METRO RAILWAY, KOLKATA w.e.f 07.11.2025
1.Revised Zones and Fares:
The following shall be the revised zones and fare for a single journey tokens as well as for a Smart Card w.e.f. 07.11.2025:

2.Existing Minimum Multi Ride (MMR), Limited Multi Ride (LMR), General Multi Ride (GMR) and Extended Multi Ride (EMR) shall be withdrawn w.e.f. 07.11.2025.

New Tourist Smart Cards shall be introduced w.e.f. 07.11.2025. Type of Tourist Smart Card and details thereof are as under:

3.Journey shall be permitted with the existing Store Value Smart Cards as per the revised fare, w.e.f. 07.11.2025.
4.The minimum balance in a Smart Card shall be Rs.25.00 i.e. the maximum fare for a single journey with new fares on Metro Railway, Kolkata.
5.No General Multi Ride Card will be in existence with the introduction of new fare structure except Student Smart Card.
6.Student Card holders will enjoy the remaining rides as usual, till exhaustion of the rides due. Further recharging will be done as per the new fare structure with concession @ 60%, as per Railway Board’s existing policy.
7.Issue of new Student Smart Cards will be done with the existing concession of 60% as per the following table, in addition to the Security Deposit amount of Rs.60.00.

8.As regards to RTC Card (issued to Hon’ble MLAs/MLCs), the holders shall enjoy the remaining value on their Cards on revised fare. On consumption of balance amount, it will be further recharged as per the new fare structure.
9.The fares of each journey will be the same for Tokens as well as for Smart Cards.
10.A 10% bonus on flat rate shall be allowed for issuing and recharging of General Smart Cards.
11.Existing General Smart Card holders shall be able to recharge their Cards @ Rs.100.00, Rs. 200.00, Rs. 300.00, Rs. 500.00 and Rs. 1000.00 up to a maximum card balance of Rs. 5000.00 on each Smart Card. All such cards shall remain valid for 365 days from the date of purchase or recharge.
12 Refund on all type of cards will be made as per the system in vogue.

Standard Single-Journey Fare (Distance-Based)
Kolkata Metro boasts one of India’s most affordable transit systems. Fares are structured by distance zones as follows:

The Blue Line covers the North–South corridor, while the Green Line extends East–West, including India’s first underwater metro segment.
Special Night Services Surcharge (Blue Line Only)
For late-night commuters, a ₹10 surcharge applies to all Blue Line tickets on night services departing around 10:40 PM, introduced from January 1, 2025.
So, a 0–2 km ride normally costing ₹5 now costs ₹15 during these night hours.
Smart Cards & Tourist Passes
Smart cards deliver a handy 10% bonus on top-ups and are perfect for regular riders:

Two types of Tourist Smart Cards are available:
