🛠️ Key Insights on Mega Blocks

  • Mumbai mega blocks are scheduled infrequently and typically announced 1–2 weeks before the date, not months in advance.
  • Examples include blocks on:
    • July 27, 2025: Impacted Central, Harbour, and Trans‑Harbour lines between Thane–Kalyan and Vashi–Panvel, with service adjustments and special local trains deployed
    • June 1, 2025: Central Railway and Western Railway both conducted maintenance blocks on select sections
  • No public or railway press release has referenced a mega block set for October 25, 2025 yet—as major maintenance schedules are still being finalized.

🔍 If a Mega Block Is Scheduled Later This Year

When confirmed (typically 1–2 weeks before):

  • On the Central Line, Up and Down slow lines between CSMT and Vidyavihar may be blocked (usually ~11 AM–4 PM), causing slow trains to run via fast tracks, with altered stops and some delays.
  • On the Harbour and Trans‑Harbour lines, services between Kurla–Vashi and Panvel–Vashi/Belapur may be canceled, with alternate local services rerouted through CSMT–Vashi section
  • Western Line local services usually remain unaffected unless expressly stated.
