ALL INDIA RAILWAY TIME TABLE CONFERENCE IS on AT PURI
THREE DAY CONFERENCE WAS INAUGURATED BY RAILWAY BOARD MEMBER TRAFFIC, SHRI GIRISH PILLAI.
THIS CONFERENCE WILL FINALISE THE TIME TABLE FOR ENTIRE INDIAN RAILWAYS.
Inter Railway Time Table Co-ordination (IRTTC) Conference-2025 is being organised from 25th to 27th February, 2025 at Puri. Chief Passenger Transportation Managers (CPTMs) from different Zonal Railways all over the country are participating in this conference. The objective of this conference is to discuss various problems of train movements and short them out for better train operations all over the country. The Conference was inaugurated by Shri Girish Pillai, Member Traffic, Railway Board.

1. National Timetable Update – TAG‑2025
- The 45th edition of Trains at a Glance was rolled out in January 2025, replacing the 44th edition for national train scheduling. It includes updated timings, routes, fares, reservation rules, and amenities for over 1,400 trains.
2. Key Regional Timetable Changes
Northern Railway (NR)
- Effective January 1, significant revisions include:
- Over 660 trains had changes in timings, speed, stoppages, or train numbers.
- Many departures and arrivals at major terminals have been revised.
South Eastern Railway (SER)
- As part of TAG‑2025:
- Revised schedules, train numbers, frequencies for over 250 trains, including suburban services.
- Launch of several new Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains, such as Ranchi–Varanasi, Tatanagar–Patna, and Howrah–Rourkela Vande Bharat routes.
Southern Railway (Salem Division)
- Introduced revised arrival/departure timings for 11 trains serving Coimbatore, effective from January 1.
Central & Other Zones
- Multiple zonal railways implemented timing tweaks and new services aligned with the TAG‑2025 schedule.
3. New Long-Distance and Fast Services Introduced
- Bengaluru ↔ Rishikesh: India’s first direct train launched on June 19, 2025 (Train Nos. 06597/06598), enhancing north-south connectivity.
- Vande Bharat Services:
- Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express launched in mid‑2025, reducing travel time to just 3 hours, enabling prompt connectivity for pilgrims and tourists.
- Gorakhpur–Patliputra Vande Bharat Express began operating six days a week from June 22, 2025.
- Ajni–Pune Sleeper Vande Bharat, Belagavi–Bengaluru, and other routes set to launch further enrich the high-speed network.
- Amrit Bharat Express:
- Mumbai LTT–Saharsa, Bapudham Motihari–Anand Vihar, Malda Town–Gomti Nagar, and Darbhanga–Gomti Nagar services were inaugurated in mid‑2025, enhancing long-distance non-AC connectivity.
