- Total Allocation: ₹10,599 crore — a modest increase of ₹13 crore over the previous year’s ₹10,586 crore
- This represents a staggering 12.5-fold increase compared to the average annual allocation (₹838 crore) during 2009–2025
Key Planned Investments & Projects
- Station Redevelopment: ₹2,379 crore earmarked to upgrade 59 stations across Odisha—including major hubs like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, and Rourkela—under schemes like Amrit Bharat Station
- New Track and Network Expansion:
- A total of 4,784 km of new track projects are underway at a cost of ₹73,723 crore
- Cumulative investments over the past decade under the NDA include ₹78,000 crore, with an additional ₹20,000 crore sanctioned for future projects
- Safety & Electrification:
- Odisha has achieved 100% rail electrification, with 1,516 km of track electrified
- The Kavach automatic train protection system is being deployed on 1,898 km, with tendering underway for further coverage; approximately 1,000 locomotives will be fitted

- Over 2,046 km of new tracks laid between 2014 and 2025—surpassing the length of Malaysia’s entire rail network

- Dangoaposi–Jaroli 3rd and 4th lines (Odisha & Jharkhand) approved under the PM–Gati Shakti plan at a cost of ₹11,169 crore, aiming for completion by 2028–29
- A fourth line (5.06 km) between Ranital Link Cabin and Bhadrak station has been sanctioned at ₹149.3 crore to decongest the Howrah–Chennai main line and improve freight connectivity
