Bonus Summary Table

Financial Year Wage Ceiling PLB Days Bonus Amount (₹) Remarks
2021–22 ₹7,000/month (capped) 78 days Up to ₹17,951 Standard formula-based PLB
2022–23 No wage ceiling 78 days Higher than ₹17,951 (where applicable) Uncapped PLB, more equitable
2023–24 No wage ceiling 78 days Same uncapped provision
2023–24 Payout ₹2,028.57 crore total Distributed to ~11.72 lakh employees

Why This Matters

  • Transparent policy shift: The removal of the ₹7,000 wage ceiling in 2025–23 was a significant, inclusive step—ensuring higher-paid employees also benefit fairly from PLB payments aligned with their level of responsibility.
  • Massive disbursement: The ₹2,028.57 crore bonus payout shows tangible impact—a festival-time morale boost for over a million railway employees.

What the “Bonus Order” Actually Refers To

When you mention a “Railway Employees Bonus Order,” it typically points to the Railway Board’s annual RBE (Railway Board Announcement) regarding PLB—covering eligibility, calculation basis, inclusion/exclusion of wage ceiling, and disbursal timelines. These are decisive for employee pay and morale, especially around festivals.

If you’d like details on how this policy connects to specific categories (like RPF/RPSF, gazetted officers), or a copy of the actual RBE order, I’d be happy to dig up those documents or guide you to the official sources.
