Here’s the updated Indian Railways Fare Table for 2025–21, reflecting the fare structure changes effective July 1, 2025:


Fare Revision Highlights (Effective 1 July 2025)

For Ordinary Non-AC Passenger Trains (Non-Suburban):

  • Second Class:
    • No increase for journeys up to 500 km.
    • ₹5 extra for journeys between 501–1,500 km
    • ₹10 extra for 1,501–2,500 km
    • ₹15 extra for 2,501–3,000 km
  • Sleeper & First Class (non-AC):
    • Increase of 0.5 paisa per km across all distances

For Mail/Express Non-AC Trains:

  • Second Class, Sleeper, and First Class:
    • Increase of 1 paisa per km uniformly

For AC Classes (Mail/Express & Premium Trains):

  • AC Chair Car, AC 3-Tier, 3-Economy, AC 2-Tier, 1AC/Executive, Anubhuti:
    • Increase of 2 paise per km

Important Notes:

  • These fare hikes apply to all premium services (Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Vande Bharat, Duronto, Tejas, Humsafar, Amrit Bharat, Gatimaan, etc.)
  • Suburban fares and season tickets (including MST/QST) remain unchanged
  • Reservation charges, superfast surcharges, and GST remain unchanged
  • Estimated additional revenue from this change is around ₹13,000 crore

  • Example 1: A 600 km 2nd Class ordinary fare will go up by ₹5 flat, regardless of per-km rate.
  • Example 2: A Sleeper Class ticket traveling 1,000 km will increase by approximately ₹5 (0.5 paisa × 1,000).
  • Example 3: A 3AC ticket traveling 1,000 km will go up by ~₹20 (2 paise × 1,000).
