✅ Additional Notes & Context

  • These were among the very first Shramik trains dispatched from Karnataka, operated only upon direct state government requests.
  • Karnataka planned to run multiple special trains daily (up to 40 per day) to states such as Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, from stations like Bengaluru, Warangal, Khammam, and more.
  • Passengers were charged extra ₹50 as per the Railways circular, but seating capacity was intentionally limited for distancing.
  • Facilities on board and at stations (food kits, water, screening) were coordinated by SWR and state authorities.

💡 Why This Matters

  • These early operations demonstrated inter-state coordination under MHA/SWR guidelines—to safely move stranded migrants.
  • Odisha and Bihar citizens in Bengaluru were prioritized, showing the state-level planning for migrant welfare via rail.
  • Logistic measures—thermal screening, mask mandates, sanitized coaches, and processed boarding—became template SOPs for later Shramik Special operations nationwide.
