Here’s the verified information on the Special Traffic and Power Block between Thane and Mulund in early 2025 on Mumbai’s Central Railway line.

🔧 Special Traffic & Power Block Details (Thane–Mulund)

📅 Date: 1–2 February 2025 (Weekend Maintenance)

  • Conducted as a Special Traffic & Power Block between Thane and Mulund, overnight starting Saturday night (1 Feb) and continuing into early Sunday morning (2 Feb)
  • This block was part of multiple maintenance operations, including launching of girder infrastructure and related works on the main suburban corridor.

🚈 Service Impact and Disruptions

Central Railway Main Line:

  • UP fast-line services departing Thane between 11:25 AM to 3:27 PM were diverted via UP slow line at Mulund, introducing an expected delay of ~15 minutes. These trains made additional halts at Mulund–Matunga section before rejoining the fast line
  • Similarly, down fast-line services from CSMT/Dadar were redirected onto down slow or alternate loop lines between Thane and Mulund. Mail/Express trains used diversion via 5th/6th lines, impacting schedule adherence

Western Railway:

  • A Jumbo Block on the WR line occurred between Jogeshwari–Kandivali from 09:30 to 13:30, suspending some mail/express and suburban services in this corridor. WW fast trains were operated on alternate lines—some local services were cancelled or truncated

Harbour & Trans-Harbour Lines:

  • Blocks also covered Thane–Vashi/Nerul Trans-Harbour and Harbour sections, leading to suspensions on several local routes and rerouting via alternate corridors

📋 Block Summary Table

Date Section Timing Impact
1–2 Feb 2025 Thane ↔ Mulund (CR Up/Down Fast) 11:25 AM–3:27 PM Fast trains diverted to slow line with additional halts; ~15 min delays
1–2 Feb 2025 Jogeshwari ↔ Kandivali (WR) 09:30 AM–13:30 PM Jumbo block: some suburban and express services cancelled/diverted
1–2 Feb 2025 Trans‑Harbour & Harbour lines ~11 AM–4 PM Partial/block suspension on Panvel–Vashi and Thane–Vashi/Nerul sections

✅ Commuter Recommendations

  • Plan travel during morning peak: UP fast services after 11:25 AM might be slower—expect ~15-minute delays.
  • Check platform alignment: Diverted trains may use alternative platforms—especially at Mulund, Matunga, and CSMT.
  • Alternate routes: Consider Central line slow services or parallel WR local options if timing is tight.
  • Track updates live: Use IRCTC Live, NTES, or apps like M‑Indicator / Trainman to track revised train movement, cancellations, or reroutes.
  • Expect schedule shifts for mail/express trains: Those passing through Thane–Mulund may be short-terminated or rescheduled.
