⚠️ Traveler Tips & Cautions
- Special fare trains receive low track priority—frequent delays reported by passengers, sometimes exceeding 6–10 hours.
“Special trains are specially treated… they are given least priority… delays of 10 hrs are very common…”
([turn0reddit19]turn0reddit21]) - Unlike regular trains, special train timetables can shift if delayed—so always check NTES or IRCTC Live Running Status before departure.
✅ Recommendations
- Prefer Vande Bharat Express or Shatabdi Express for faster, more predictable travel if available.
- If traveling on dates when only the special is available (e.g. mid-April on Wednesday/Thursday), book 03027/28 early via IRCTC or PRS.
- Expect potential delays and carry light meals—no pantry available.
- Confirm final coach composition and stops closer to travel date—Indian Railways may issue updates.
