⚠️ Tips & Passenger Feedback

  • Service extensions in past years were reported late: earlier seasons saw delays and rescheduling of special trains due to low track priority and rake-sharing issues.

“Special trains are specially treated … they are least priority … hence special train will also get delayed.”
    (From shared Reddit user feedback).
    ([turn0reddit20])

  • Delays up to 12+ hours have been widely reported; best to check NTES or live running status before boarding.
    ([turn0reddit20])
  • Waitlisted tickets on popular trains like Saraighat Express or Garib Rath tend to confirm faster than hubs using special trains.

✅ Recommended Travel Planning

  • This train is a direct option on the Kolkata–Guwahati route during early summer 2025, filling seasonal demand.
  • If you can find availability on regular superfast trains like Saraighat Express (12345/12346) or Guwahati–Kolkata Garib Rath (12517/12518), they offer better punctuality and consistency.
    ([turn0search15]turn0search14])
  • Always book early and monitor status on travel day; consider alternatives if there’s significant delay.

Would you like:

  • A full halt-by-halt timetable for these special trains?
  • Class-wise fare breakdown (SL, 3A, 2A, etc.)?
  • Comparison with regular trains like Saraighat or Garib Rath for the same dates?

Let me know—happy to help you plan your journey!
