- From 2025, Eastern Railway is focusing on modernizing suburban transport:
- Introduction of AC local trains on the Sealdah–Ranaghat route (first in Eastern India). Trials began mid‑2025. Fare slabs: ₹29 (up to 10 km), ₹37 (11–15 km) with MST options ₹590/₹780.
- A second AC EMU rake arrived by mid‑July 2025, aligned with expansion of EMU services in peripheral sectors.
- These enhancements relate to suburban transit, not long-distance or non-suburban passenger trains.
📌 Recommendations
- If you need exact timings, halts, or train numbers for any of the 54 services, you may consult the official Eastern Railway timetable, or I can pull those details for a specific route.
- For comparison with EMU/suburban trains, note that these non-suburban trains are different—they often serve intermediate towns and are not high-frequency commuter services.
- You can check the NTES app or Eastern Railway enquiry portal closer to December 2025 to confirm daily schedules and coach composition.
