Western Railway to run 3 pairs of special trains (Vapi-Ahmedabad, Somnath-Ahmedabad and Nimach-Bhopal) for candidates appearing in NEET Exams

In order to benefit the candidates appearing for NEET exams, Western Railway has decided to run 3 more pairs of special trains.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur- Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, these special trains will run between Vapi- Ahmedabad, Somnath – Ahmedabad and Nimach -Bhopal. The details of these special trains are as under :-

The booking for will open with immediate effect at nominated PRS counters and IRCTC website. It is to be noted that above mentioned trains will run as FULLY RESERVED trains. There will be NO unreserved General Second Class coaches BUT only Second Class reserved Seating coach.

Here are the official details on the three Special Exam‑fare trains operated by Western Railway for NEET candidates, as announced on September 11, 2025, and their respective timetables, routes, and frequencies. All were fully reserved services (with Sleeper and Reserved Second Seating only) and were run only for specified dates, not as recurring services.

🚆 Western Railway NEET Exam Special Trains (Single Round Trips)

1. Vapi – Ahmedabad Special

Train Numbers: 09081 (Vapi → Ahmedabad) / 09082 (Ahmedabad → Vapi)

09081 departed Vapi at 23:10 IST on Saturday, 12 Sept 2025, arriving Ahmedabad Jn (ADI) at 05:00 IST the next day (~325 km in ~6 h 20 min) via Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad (8 halts).
09082 returned ADI at 23:10 IST on Sunday, 13 Sept, reaching Vapi at 05:00 IST next day via the same halts.
Class: Reserved 2S (Second Seating); no unreserved coaches. Fare approx.: ₹150–200 (SL/2S special fare)

2. Somnath – Ahmedabad Special

Train Numbers: 09201 (Somnath → Ahmedabad) / 09202 (Ahmedabad → Somnath)

09201 departed Somnath at 21:30 IST on 12 Sept 2025, arriving Ahmedabad at 05:25 IST next day (~437 km in ~7 h 55 min) with halts at Veraval, Chorwad Rd, Maliya Hatina, Keshod, Junagadh, Jetalsar, Navagaon, Virpur, Gondal, Bhakti Nagar, Rajkot, Wankaner, Than, Surendranagar, Viramgam.
09202 returned Ahmedabad at 21:10 IST on 13 Sept, reaching Somnath around 05:05 IST next day via same stations.
Class: Fully reserved Sleeper and 2S only; fare approx. ₹200–300 for SL, ₹150–200 for 2S

3. Nimach – Bhopal Special

Train Numbers: 09301 (Nimach → Bhopal) / 09302 (Bhopal → Nimach)

09301 departed Nimach at 18:40 IST on Saturday, 12 Sept 2025, arriving Bhopal Jn at 05:00 IST next day (~507 km in ~10 h 20 min) via stops at Mandsor, Ratlam, Barnagar, Fatehabad, Laxmi Bai Nagar, Dewas, Ujjain, Sehore, Sant Hirdaram Nagar.
09302 returned Bhopal at 20:00 IST on Sunday, 13 Sept, arriving Nimach at 06:15 IST next morning via same halts.
Class: Reserved SL and 2S only (Sleeper coaches attached); fare approx ₹200–300 for SL, ₹100–150 for 2S

ℹ️ Important Notes

These trips were launched solely for NEET exam candidates on 12–13 Sept 2025 as per Western Railway’s PR. They are not recurring services.
Post-2025, none of these trains are part of WR’s current active timetable or listed on IRCTC. They have been officially decommissioned.
For regular travel on these routes, active trains include:
- Ahmedabad–Somnath Intercity Express (19119/19120) runs daily, general unreserved (~9 h 22 min journey)
- For Nimach–Bhopal or Vapi–Ahmedabad routes, regular express and passenger services remain in operation.
